Natalie Cressman's Bio

Trombonist Natalie Cressman, 18, hails from San Francisco, where she attended the San Francisco High School of the Arts.

This year, Natalie was selected to participate in the GRAMMY Jazz Ensembles and Jazz Band of America, groups comprised of high school students from all around the nation. She has played lead trombone in the California All State Jazz Band, the SFJAZZ high school All-stars, and the Jazzschool Studio Band.

In the summer of 2008, Natalie traveled to Rotterdam for the North Sea Jazz Festival with the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra. She first performed with Peter Apfelbaum and the Hieroglyphics Ensemble at the Monterey Jazz Festival when she was 15. Natalie has also performed with Jai Uttal and the Pagan Love Orchestra,Pete Escovedo’s Latin Jazz Orchestra, Carlos Santana, Steven Bernstein, Sheila E., Edgardo Cambon and Orchestra Candela, and Sandy Cressman.

As a singer, dancer and actress, Natalie has performed in the American Conservatory Theater’s “A Christmas Carol,” Baz Luhrman’s Broadway production of “La Boheme,” and the California Shakespeare Festival’s “Measure for Measure, and the San Francisco Ballet and City Ballet’s versions of “The Nutcracker.” She currently attends Manhattan School of Music.
